History: It was used as a bitter for beer before hops and is used for flavoring in some other spirits and wines, including bitters vermouth and pelinkovac. Wormwood is quite fragrant and has a history of use in smoking blends, incense, and smudges. The Wormwood plant also has a history of medicinal use, aiding in stomach upset, general inflammation, and relaxation. More scientific research is needed to verify any medicinal claims.
